Banyule Respiratory Clinic operates daily at 152 Burgundy Street Heidelberg, right near the Austin Hospital precinct. There is on-street parking at the front of the clinic on Burgundy Street and there is another large car park within 200 metres. The clinic is also fully accessible.

The clinic is a dedicated GP Respiratory Clinic for patients with low acuity respiratory symptoms. Our clinic is designed for treatment of symptomatic patients  (e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose).

If you do not have respiratory symptoms and require a COVID-19 test only, an appropriate testing location can be found here

Patients can access a respiratory assessment and receive support in the immediate management of their condition.

We prefer patients to pre book an appointment through our online booking system. We are also able to accept a limited number of walk in patients.

To ensure patients are made to feel as welcome and comfortable as possible, the service will replicate the standard process of visiting a doctor.

Once a patient is checked in to the clinic, they are taken into an isolation room where they initially consult with our nurse. The nurse then undertakes a full set of observations that is recorded in the patient management system.

We will be providing short-term management of patient’s acute, immediate respiratory needs, with longer term management supported by referral to back to the patient’s regular GP.

Our doctors provide written discharge within 48 hours to the patient’s regular GP following management of immediate respiratory illness.

Our nursing team assist patients to access ongoing GP care where they don’t have a regular GP.

We support patients who test positive to COVID-19 to receive care through the COVID Positive Pathways program, which links people to clinical care, monitoring and support services.

The clinic operates as an Emergency Department diversion option, receiving warm referrals from general practices, pharmacies, COVID+ Pathways providers and Emergency Departments.

We provide services to people with and without a Medicare card, with no out of pocket costs to patients.

We can provide access to interpreters for all patients when required, including for patients who do not have Medicare cards.

All our team to adhere to infection control guidelines and the use of PPE as per Victorian Government Guidelines.
